Evidence-based HCM system selection

Evidence-based HCM system selection: Using a pre-built HCM prototype on a Force.com platform is the only way to confirm the right choice of products for an HCM solution.
Just about every consultant has a template for HCM product specification and it is usually an Excel spreadsheet that they complete with a client and send off to selected vendors in the form of an RFI (Request For Information). In the Cloud environment that approach is useless.

HR Cloud Solutions' partner Competitive Edge Technology (CET) has converted the RFI into an HCM system framework on the Force.com platform to simulate how the chosen HCM product(s) should operate. It is a prototype of an HCM cloud solution. It introduces the client to a working model that can be used to:
  • Define HCM functional requirements
  • Identify specific data needs
  • Experiment with custom development tools
  • Set up and test integrations to other systems
  • Produce reports from a unified database (data warehouse)
  • Demonstrate access to the back-end database through mobile devices, and
  • Experience the power of collaboration in the social enterprise.
After specifying system needs in our database we then compare that to product capability details in our database and identify a best fit list of products to focus on. Those products can be demonstrated in the integrated HCM prototype: It is an evidence-based way of selecting an HCM cloud solution.

It is an excellent cost-effective way to find the best fit products to match a company’s HCM requirements and it is not a throw away after the exercise is complete: It can become part of your system architecture to keep on performing all of the features it was used for during the evaluation process, plus custom development on a Force.com platform.
